This collection of real-life stories shares the personal experiences, struggles, strategies and successes of mothers who have, or are, juggling work and motherhood.

Mother of two grown children, JumpStart’s Sharon Hughes-Geekie has experienced the rewards, and the regrets, of single parenting while navigating a career. Despite the inconvenience of diapers, drool and daycare, she believes the working mama’s challenges begin in earnest when your child can no longer be strapped into a car seat. Despite chaos and crisis on the home front, Sharon has mastered the art of appearing calm, collected and capable in the board room — even while sporting mismatched shoes.

JumpStart CEO Sharon Hughes-Geekie believes fear is often self-doubt in disguise.  Fear, in its truest form, keeps us safe.  Self-doubt prevents us from taking risks, seizing opportunities and enjoying everything life has to offer — particularly as we get older.  Drawing upon personal insights and experience gained over more than a decade as director with a national home health care company, Sharon will provide tips and truths to help us live bravely at any age.
